Break-in Recommendations

In addition to the break-in recommendations cited in the Dodge Owner's Manual, Shelby Automobiles, Inc. points out that the crank case oil installed in the engine at the factory is of a type consistent with anticipated climate conditions. For proper replacement oil selection and maintenance intervals see Section 4 of this manual.

Starting and Operating

When starting your Shelby Dakota DO NOT press the accelerator pedal. Turn the key to the START position and release when the engine starts. If it does not start within 10 seconds, turn the key to the OFF position, wait 5 seconds, and try again.

WARNING: Never pour fuel or any flammable liquid into the throttle body air inlet opening when trying to start the engine. A flash fire could occur with the possibility of serious personal injury.

Tires

Shelby Automobiles, Inc. and Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. specially developed the tires on your Shelby Dakota. The design provides the proper balance of ride, noise, handling, durability, tread life, traction, and rolling resistance. Shelby Automobiles, Inc. strongly recommends that replacement tires be the same or equivalent to the original equipment.

Note: Alignments and wheel balancing are not covered under Shelby Automobiles, Inc. Limited Warranties, Chrysler Motors Limited Warranties, or Goodyear Limited Warranties. They are the responsibility of the owner.

Failure to use equivalent tires may adversely affect the safety and handling of your truck.
